Church Weekend Away 2018: De Vere Beaumont Estate

We are so excited about our Church Weekend Away from June 1st-June 3rd 2018.  It is going to be our largest Church Weekend Away yet and we have booked the De Vere Beaumont Estate (Old Windsor) for our time together.  This is an amazing venue with fantastic facilities which is close to London.

The weekend will be an opportunity for us to gather as one church family across our four different congregations, have huge amounts of fun together, and allow God to shine his light into our hearts so that we might increasingly shine like stars for Christ. In addition to the main adult programme, there will be a full Youth and Children’s programme running throughout the weekend.

Family Rooms

The cost of a child ticket is based on children sharing a room with their parents in a family room.  There are two types of family room:

Family Room 1:  a double bed with an extra bed suitable for one child under 12.  A cot can be added to this room.

 

Family Room 2: a double bed with a double sofa bed suitable for two children under 12.  A cot can be added to this room.

Before 31st Dec 2017, you can secure an Early Bird rate for your Church Weekend Away tickets by paying a first instalment of £30 per adult and £5 per child.  This will automatically put you on the payment plan – see details below.

You can also pay in full at the Early Bird rate before 31st Dec 2017 and there is an option for this on the booking page.

Payment Plan

If you secure a place on the weekend by paying a first instalment you will be put on the payment plan which we hope will be helpful in spreading the cost.  The timing of instalments is indicated below with an example ticket amount.  We will send you a reminder when each payment is due.

Bursaries

We hope that the option of a subsidised Early Bird rate and a payment plan will make the weekend more accessible in terms of cost. However, if you feel you would be unable to come because of financial constraints then there are bursaries available. If this applies to you, please do not feel embarrassed to apply for a bursary.

Refunds

Tickets are refundable until the 28th February 2018. After this date, all tickets are non-refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions

We will be releasing more information about the weekend as it approaches but we hope the FAQs below are helpful at the start of the booking process.

Who are the speakers?

We are having a number of different speakers for our main sessions and seminars over the weekend. Excitingly, we already have confirmed Hugh and Clare Palmer. Hugh is the Rector of All Souls Langham Place and a chaplain to the Queen. However, far more important than any of these positions, is the fact that he and Clare are godly and wise leaders, and Hugh is well-known as an amazing Bible communicator. Further speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

What is included in the cost of my ticket?

The ticket cost includes a weekend stay at the De Vere Beaumont Estate, all meals, tea, coffee and soft drinks on demand, access to ministry activities, social activities, evening entertainment and all the main sessions. This year, we are providing a subsidised Early Bird rate and payment plan to spread the cost of the weekend.   

What facilities are there at the venue?

The hotel facilities include a fully equipped pool and gym, tennis courts, an outdoor play area and 40 acres of parkland grounds.  All these are free to use though please note that children will need supervision in certain areas.  

In addition to our meeting rooms and restaurant, there is also a bar and lounge for guests to use in the evenings/free time.  

Free, superfast Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and up to 100m within the grounds.

What are the room arrangements?

Standard rooms at De Vere are either a double or twin hotel room.   All rooms are en-suite.   
There are also en-suite family rooms available.   Please see details above on family rooms.

Will there be a coach organised this year?

The hotel is just 3 miles from Windsor and minutes from J13 of the M25.  Egham station is 3 miles away.  A fast train from Clapham Junction to Egham takes 29 mins (the stopping train takes 49 mins).   Based on these distances/timings, we think public transport (or driving) offers the most flexible approach but we will contact those coming on the weekend nearer the time to see if there is any interest in a coach. 

What HTC Kids and HTC Youth provision will there be on the weekend?

Josh and his fantastic team will be running a full HTC Kids (1.5-11 years) and HTC Youth (12-16 years) programme during the weekend.  There will also be an area at the back of the main conference room with sofas for those with babes in arms that are sleeping, feeding or playing quietly.  

How much free time will there be over the weekend and are any social activities planned?

The weekend will include planned times for relaxing and socialising including entertainment on both the Friday and Saturday evenings.  A range of activities will also be available on Saturday afternoon but everything will be optional.

Is the weekend suitable for family members or others who don’t normally come to church?

Yes!  The feel of the weekend will be inclusive and relaxed with plenty of time for socialising.  If those who don’t normally attend church want to join in with the main sessions, they will be welcomed and we will do all we can to ensure they feel comfortable.  However, if they would prefer not to attend these elements there will be areas to have coffee and chat to people or relax, and plenty of amenities and all the facilities and grounds at the hotel for them to enjoy.  

Is it possible to know the schedule in advance? 

The schedule will be finalised at a later date but arrival and end times are explained below which we hope are helpful to know at time of booking.  

What time are we expected to be there on the Friday?

Check-in is available from 3pm onwards on Friday afternoon (Friday 1st June).  The venue has been chosen to minimise travelling time from London so that people won’t need to arrive too late after work.  A buffet supper will run from 6.30-8pm (with family dining also available from 5-6pm) with the first evening session starting straight after this.  

What time will it finish on the Sunday?

The weekend will end with a family service followed by a buffet lunch running from 12.30-2pm with an option of a grab and go packed lunch.

What are the provisions for children’s meals?

We’ve taken feedback from previous Church Weekends Away and are liaising with the hotel to provide flexible family dining times.  

Does De Vere cater for different dietary requirement?

Absolutely!  When you book on the weekend you will be asked to let us know any specific dietary requirements and we will pass these on to the hotel Chef and their team.  

I have mobility issues?  Will I be able to take part in everything?  

If you have mobility issues, please let us know this when you book and we will make sure your room is situated in an accessible area.  All our sessions are in the main conference room which is on the ground floor.
